Chris Eubank Jr takes on Liam Smith in Manchester on Saturday night, with two former world champions facing each other in a well matched contest.

Eubank Jr and Smith will be hoping that their press conference clash on Thursday will not distract from the task at hand, with both fighters apologising on Friday after they taunted each other about their personal lives. There is serious business to be done, with Smith stepping up to face Eubank at middleweight having won his world title at light-middleweight.

Smith last fought in September, beating Hassan Mwakinyo at the Echo Arena in Liverpool while Eubank last fought in May 2022 before his October fight against Conor Benn was cancelled. Both will have their sights set on a second big fight in 2023, with Billy Joe Saunders touted as a potential opponent for Eubank by Boxxer promoter Ben Shalom.
