Chris Cadden outlines Hibs fans' key role vs Rangers with confidence high ahead of Easter Road clash

Chris Cadden insists Hibs are in a good place ahead of facing Rangers as he outlined the key role the fans will play at Easter Road.

Lee Johnson's men made it seven Premiership matches without defeat on Saturday after responding from going behind to an early Joel Nouble goal to run out big 4-1 winners over Livingston at the Tony Macaroni Arena. That latest win made it five victories and two draws in that period and keeps the Hibees just five points behind Hearts in the race for third.

Next up for the men from Leith is a huge showdown under the lights at Easter Road against Michael Beale and his Light Blues. The new Ibrox boss is yet to taste defeat in the league with the previous meeting against Hibs ended in a five-goal thriller in favour of the visitors. It's set to be a massive night in the capital with city rivals Hearts in Glasgow to face Celtic.

Speaking to Hibs TV, Cadden says there is a new found belief in the squad and everyone is in a good place with confidence high. He said: “Livi is a tough place to go – it is notorious in the Scottish league, and it is one of the hardest away grounds to go to.

“To come from a goal down and win showed the belief we have in our group and we need to take confidence from that.

“We are in a good place, we have a real tight group and we are all really enjoying our football right now. We have a good balance in the squad of experienced boys and young lads coming through.

“We have got Newell, Nizzy and Myko all to come back as well so the squad is in a good place at the moment.”

On the clash with Rangers tomorrow night, he added: “It will be a good game. Under the lights at Easter Road will be another great atmosphere, it always is.

"The fans will play a big part on the night, they will be right behind us from the start so we need to make sure we give them something to cheer about.

“We are all looking forward to it, we have to go into it with the same focus, same application and go again. We are in a good place right now so we just need to make sure we kick on from here.”
