Chris Broussard wants 2-Time MVP to join the Warriors

Despite their aging roster, the Golden State Warriors continue to be viewed as championship contenders. This summer, Mike Dunleavy and the Warriors front office made the move to acquire Chris Paul in the hope that the veteran guard can help elevate the team’s rotation to another level.

Paul’s addition is only seen as a short-term solution to Golden State’s ability to remain among the elite teams in the NBA in the coming years. However, Fox Sports’ Chris Broussard believes the Warriors should turn their attention toward Giannis Antetokounmpo if they truly want to continue adding championship banners to the Chase Center.

“In the Bay Area, as soon as the story hit the wire, they had stories written in the Bay Area about Giannis coming to the Warriors,” Broussard said. “…There’s no place that I would rather see Giannis playing than with Steph Curry. Because I think it would be so awesome to see those two together.”

Recently, Giannis refused to commit his long-term future to the Milwaukee Bucks, citing his need to see a certain level of commitment from both his teammates and the front office. Giannis is under contract for two more years, with a third year as a player option.

As such, Steph Curry would be 37 years old before the Warriors could realistically pair the two players together unless they managed to trade for Giannis, which is highly unlikely. As such, any addition of Giannis will remain a pipe dream, at least for the immediate future.
