Chris Ballard fired as Indianapolis Colts GM just six games into 2026 NFL season

• Chris Ballard has been fired as the general manager of the Indianapolis Colts following a disappointing start to the NFL season.
• The decision was made following the Colts’ 26-20 defeat against the previously winless Tennessee Titans on Sunday, which leaves the Colts with a 2-4 record from their six games this season.
• Fans booed the team and chanted “Fire Ballard” during the game and they have now got their wish.
• Team co-owner Carlie Irsay-Gordon said the decision to fire Ballard could not wait until the offseason, as she said making the change now was a “deliberate decision”.
• Irsay-Gordon added that a “thorough search” for Ballard’s replacement will begin immediately.
