Chris Armas is confident his brief stint at Leeds United alongside his experience at Manchester United has made him 'more ready' for his next coaching opportunity. The American joined compatriot Jesse Marsh's backroom team at Elland Road in January, only for Marcelo Bielsa's successor to be sacked days later.
Armas was initially part of a three-man interim team, along with Michael Skubala and Paco Gallardo, which led the senior squad until Javi Gracia's appointment. But by March, the former Whites boss confirmed the 50-year-old was not part of his coaching setup.
Armas' short time at Leeds followed a spell working under Ralf Rangnick at Manchester United. The interim boss came under heavy criticism during his final months at Old Trafford, but Armas is adamant the two posts proved to be positives for him, despite their obvious difficulties.

He told the Athletic: "I learned along the way, there's some things I would do the same, some things I would do differently, but you learn and you grow. All of these experiences, I think make you a little bit more ready for the next one."
Armas was Marsch's assistant for the FA Cup fourth-round victory at Accrington Stanley, only for the Leeds boss to be sacked a week later following defeat to Nottingham Forest. Armas then faced two reunions with his former employers, as the Whites earned a 2-2 draw at Old Trafford days before the Red Devils picked up a 2-0 away win.
Reflecting on his return, Armas said: "It was amazing to get back there with Leeds to play against Man U. When a dozen players, staff, they're waiting for me after the game in the tunnel to say hello - Luke Shaw, Harry Maguire, a bunch of guys, Victor [Lindelof], big hugs all around.
"And again, that means more to me than anything else because you realise your time there was, yes, it's about wins and losses, for sure, it's about growing, but it's about the connections, always."
Armas is keen to be granted another chance as a head coach, having last worked in the role with MLS side Toronto FC. However, with Marsch being touted as the potential next manager of the USA national team, the coach has also not ruled out working with the former Whites boss once again.
Armas added: "I made the decision recently to work with Jesse at Leeds, I'd always consider working wth Jesse."
