Multiple cases of cholera are being seen in Kerala and Gujarat. The number of cases include a 10-year-old boy from Kerala, and several cases from Gujarat's Anand, Rajkot, Jamnagar, and Vadodara.
On July 5, Rajkot Collector Prabhav Joshi under the Epidemic Diseases Act released a notification in view of the rising cholera cases. "It will be in force for a period of two months. The localities include Lohanagar, where two cholera cases were detected, railway crossing and Gondal road. Food items made from ice have been banned under the notification till September 4," he said.
