City centre Korean restaurant and takeaway Choessi Adjeossi comes well-recommended, appearing as one of the top-rated Korean venues in Leeds on Deliveroo.
It's racked up a 4.6 star rating on the app, serving its popular Korean fried chicken, dumplings and Kimchi fried rice. To put it to the test, my flatmate and I ordered some of the popular dishes at Choessi Adjeossi to see how they stacked up.
We went for a variety, ordering the soy and ginger crispy fried chicken, the vegetable dumplings, kimchi fried rice and the vegetable bibimbap. There was an offer on, so we got the dumplings for free, which is always nice.

It took on the longer side of the estimated delivery time to come - Deliveroo estimated it'd be with us within 30-50 minutes. Our food arrived 53 minutes after our order was confirmed, so still basically within the delivery window.
The food was hot when it arrived, and ready to go. We unboxed it all, and sampled the lot.
The immediate standout for both of us was the vegetable bibimbap - vibrant in colour and punchy in flavour, this was exactly what we wanted. It came with rice, mushrooms, carrots, cucumber, a fried egg, topped with namul, kimchi and gochujang.
Every component here brought another complimentary flavour to the dish that tied together really well. The kick from the kimchi was especially appreciated.
Similarly good was the kimchi fried rice, which was also full of flavour and spice. The portion sizes for both these dishes, and the chicken, were generous, and it was hard to stop eating the fried rice and bibimbap even when we were both very full.
The sauce on the soy and ginger crispy fried chicken was lovely, sticky and strong. However, in my opinion the chicken should have been slightly crispier - the flavour was great but the texture was quite soft.
Finally, the dumplings. These were a shame - unlike everything else they'd gone a bit cold, and the texture was primarily chewy rather than anything else.
The filling seemed a bit paltry within the dumplings and didn't much in the way of flavour. I wouldn't order these again - though I can't complain too much since we did get them for free on the offer Choessi Adjeossi had in place.
All in all, I'd get the bibimbap and the kimchi fried rice again any day - they were perfect comfort food full of umami. I'd just steer clear of the dumplings.
Bill breakdown:
Soy & ginger crispy fried chicken: £8.90
Vegetable bibimbap: £9.90
Kimchi fried rice: £8.90
Vegetable dumplings: £5
Total (incl. service and delivery fees and offers): £32.18
