Cho Gue-sung's path to a potential move to Celtic seems clear as the South Korean star admits talks have taken place with Ange Postecoglou's side.
The Hoops seem to have identified the World Cup star as an impending new recruit after Postecoglou moved quickly to bring J-League stars Tomoki Iwata and Yuki Kobayashi to Glasgow, delving once again in to his deep knowledge of the overseas market. Celtic have, according to reports, been in pursuit of Gue-sung for some time with some Korean media claiming talks were underway.
Now the 24-year-old Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors star has broken his silence on the transfer links and has ruled out an approach from Celtic's competition in Galatasaray which could make the path clear for the Hoops with the window now open.
Speaking to Korean outlet KVN: "Celtic have six Japanese players in its squad. As you can see there, it is a team that has invested heavily in the Asian market over the past few years and there have been talks."
On a link to Galatasaray, who were said to be in competition with Celtic over his signature, he added: "This is not true. There is no recruitment offer from this club in Turkey."
