Patients searching for news about their blood pressure medication this week may have seen conflicting claims about how serious the latest chlorthalidone recall is. Federal records list it as a Class II recall, the FDA's middle-risk category, not the more serious Class I.
The recall covers 13,567 bottles of 25-milligram chlorthalidone tablets made by India-based Inventia Healthcare Limited, from batch RISA24002 with an April 2027 expiration date, News4Jax reported. The company began the voluntary recall on Sept. 3, and the FDA assigned the Class II rating on Sept. 17.
