Ex-Geordie Shore star Chloe Ferry is on a quest to restore her thinning hair back to health and hopes DNA testing will help her uncover the solution.
The brunette beauty has openly admitted her hair struggles and returned to her natural roots after years of bleach damage left her hair lank and thinning.
The reality star has now opted for a genetic test used to discover the underlying factors of the development of alopecia and hair loss - at award-winning hair transplant clinic Juvida.
The test also focuses on providing fully-customised treatments for alopecia - a condition that hit the headlines after Will Smith slapped Chris Rock at the Oscars for joking about Jada Pinkett Smith's buzzcut for her alopecia areata.
The TV personality, who doesn't have alopecia areata but believes her hair is thinning due to her stress levels being 'very up and down', hopes the genetic information revealed by the test will unlock the secrets to better locks.
Chloe said: "A couple of years ago I was struggling with my hair because of bleaching and hair extensions. I want my hair for the summer to be really thick and healthy.
"My stress is very up and down at the minute, I think with covid and stuff. I feel I'm alright now. [But] that's probably why my hair's so thin.
"I feel hair is the most important thing on a person. Once I've had a blow dry I feel like Kim Kardashian."
The 26-year-old hopes hair experts will be able to arrange the formulation of the perfect treatment for her hair after a simple and painless swab DNA test.
Chloe said: "They put the swab on your tongue and the sides of your mouth - it was so quick.
"They send it over to Barcelona to get a DNA analysis done. It's to make sure I get the right hair products to look after my hair.
"I'm really hoping the DNA testing will help me continue my journey to thicker, more luscious long locks."
Chloe has even taken drastic steps of keeping her own hair hidden under wigs and extensions, but last year had it styled straight, and chopped just above her shoulders.
"A woman who changes her hair is a woman who means business," the former Geordie Shore star said at the time.
