Chitrakoot government doctor gets transfer he badly sought, but on his 'terahvi'

PRAYAGRAJ: A 55-year-old government doctor posted in Chitrakoot, who was seeking transfer to his hometown Prayagraj for the past two years citing his chronic ailment, had his request attended to after his death. The family received the transfer letter on his WhatsApp number on the day of his 'terahvi' (13th day) ritual.

Dr Dipendra Singh, a resident of Allahpur locality of the city, was posted at district hospital, Chitrakoot, and was critically ill for quite some time because of infection in his liver. According to his family members, Dr Singh had requested transfer to Prayagraj on health grounds. But, before any action was taken by the authorities on his request, Dr Singh breathed his last on the night of June 17.
