Chipotle stock surges 6% as Starbucks explores potential takeover of CMG - here's what investors need to know

CMG stock today: Chipotle stock jumped Thursday after a report that Starbucks has explored a potential takeover of the Mexican fast-casual restaurant chain.

Chipotle Mexican Grill Inc shares rose as much as 8% after the report before giving back some of those gains. The stock was up about 6% later in Thursday’s trading session. Meanwhile Starbucks stock dropped around 3%.
