The bipartisan Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) released imagery revealing the presence of these bases, with concerns raised about China's involvement in their construction and operation.
Rep. Carlos Gimenez, R-Fla., highlighted the proximity of these spy bases to sensitive U.S. installations in Florida, including the Key West Naval Air Station and Homestead Air Force Base. He emphasized the growing influence of China and Russia in the region, calling for a stronger response from the U.S. government.
