Chinese military officer seen standing like a robot as Air Force One passes just a few meters away, internet has questions. Watch viral video

A Chinese military officer has gone viral on social media after footage showed him standing perfectly still as US President Donald Trump rolled by just yards away. The clip, now widely shared on X, Instagram and TikTok, shows the officer maintaining complete composure and posture despite the powerful jet blast and noise from the aircraft. He stood motionless as Donald Trump's Air Force One passed near him when he arrived in Beijing on Wednesday, May 13, with some calling it “next-level focus” and “peak professionalism.”

Some users questioned whether the situation was dangerous and raised concerns that he could have been pulled toward the plane’s engine. However, others argued that Air Force One was likely not as close as it appeared in the video, suggesting that the incident may not have been as risky as it looked.

"This is what discipline looks like… A Chinese soldier doesn't budge an inch as Air Force One taxis just feet away from his post. A bit closer and we’d have had an international incident before Trump even stepped off the plane," a user shared the video on X with this caption.

"That soldier is clearly focused on the job, but it hits different seeing how close the tarmac operations get to the guard line. you realize how much precision goes into these movements," commented one user. "It's very bad he might have sucked into the jet engines," said another.

"I think the camera angles does him alot of favor here," commented another. "Lol!! The kudos should go to the pilot pls!!! Discipline at the expense of ur life? Idiotic pls!," asked another.

"He stood there like nothing’s going to happen even if he stood on the plane itself," said another. "This is called telephoto lens compression. The dude is hundreds of feet from the plane," said another.

Trump meets Xi Jinping

The video comes at a time when US President Trump arrived in Beijing for a high-stakes summit with Chinese leader Xi Jinping as tensions between the two countries run high. "President Trump had a good meeting with President Xi of China. The two sides discussed ways to enhance economic cooperation between our two countries, including expanding market access for American businesses into China and increasing Chinese investment into our industries. Leaders from many of the United States’ largest companies joined a portion of the meeting. The two sides agreed that the strait of Hormuz must remain open to support the free flow of energy. President Xi also made clear China’s opposition to the militarisation of the strait and any effort to charge a toll for its use, and he expressed interest in purchasing more American oil to reduce China’s dependence on the strait in the future. Both countries agreed that Iran can never have a nuclear weapon," the White House said in an official meeting.

Xi Jinping has told Donald Trump their countries could come into conflict if the issue over self-ruled Taiwan claimed by Beijing is mishandled, Chinese state media said.

“The Taiwan question is the most important issue in China-US relations,” Xi said at their summit, according to state broadcaster CCTV. If mishandled, the two nations could collide or even come into conflict, pushing the entire China-US relationship into a highly perilous situation."
