FBI Director Christopher Wray issued a stark warning about the growing threat posed by Chinese hackers during a recent press conference. Wray emphasized that China is actively targeting the economic security of the United States and cautioned that their actions could have severe consequences. In what he described as a particularly concerning development, Wray revealed that China is planning to unleash a series of 'low blows' on various critical infrastructures in the country.
According to Wray, these potential attacks would target a wide range of sectors including water treatment plants, electrical grids, internet routers, and communication networks. The FBI director expressed significant concern over the current state of preparedness in the United States, stating that the country is currently outmatched by Chinese hackers. He revealed that even if the entire workforce of the FBI's cyber agents and intelligence analysts were dedicated solely to countering the Chinese threat, their numbers would be outnumbered by Chinese hackers at least 50 to one.
