Childwall Fiveways as you've never seen it before as Liverpool fans take over for parade

This is Childwall Fiveways as you've never seen it before as thousands of Liverpool supporters lined the streets for the club’s victory parade on Sunday afternoon.

Huge crowds turned out despite the Reds suffering Champions League heartbreak on Saturday night in Paris. Jurgen Klopp’s side were beaten 1-0 by Real Madrid.

But that didn’t stop Liverpool supporters from turning out in their thousands to celebrate a fine campaign for the club. As well finishing second in the Premier League, the Reds also claimed the League Cup and FA Cup - at the expense of Chelsea both times.

And as the astonishing video above shows, taken from the media bus, there was a sea of Red as fans waved banners and set off flares to greet their heroes who were carrying the two trophies they have claimed this season.

Speaking on the game last night, Jurgen Klopp said post-match: “In the last third we could have done better, a pass here, the crosses, especially towards the end of the game, towards Courtois made not too much sense.

“We had the best phase probably after they scored the 1-0, then we played immediately exactly in the spaces we had to play. In the first half there were good moments, when we found Sadio, next left to right from Casemiro, their centre-halves stayed deep, Sad could turn, arrived in the box.

“That was good. We wanted to play a bit more in their formation in the second half then around their formation. The problem is when you play against Real Madrid and they defend that deep, the counter-attacking threat they are is immense.

“You cannot ignore that. I saw us doing really a lot of good things, to be honest, but it was not enough and we take that.”
