Children in the 12-14 age group will be jabbed during summer vacation as health workers will cover all schools across Mysuru district to complete the first dose of vaccination by the end of this month.
So far, 62 per cent of the children have been covered and the remaining children, some of them busy in SSLC examination, will be covered during the vacation.
DHO K H. Prasad told The Hindu that the vaccination drive in schools began a week ago. “Before the drive, we had covered 30 per cent of the children. We will step up the drive and administer the first dose to all the children soon,” he added.
The DHO said the Deputy Director of Public Instruction, Mysuru has been requested to support the drive and ensure the presence of children in schools when the vaccination is done.
