A child was rushed to hospital yesterday along with a man and woman following a horror smash on the M8 near Livingston which saw a car flipped on its side.
Emergency crews rushed to the accident just after 1pm yesterday, which closed the motorway for a time and caused lengthy tailbacks.
Witnesses said it looked like the vehicle had flipped several times.
A child and woman were treated in hospital for minor injuries while a man is receiving care for serious, but non life-threatening injuries.
Officers eventually allowed traffic to pass on the hard shoulder before one lane was reopened.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 1.05pm on Sunday, 22 May, 2022, police were called to the M8 between junctions 2 and 3, following a report of a one-vehicle crash.
“One man was taken to hospital with serious, but not life-threatening injuries. One woman and one child were also taken to hospital with minor injuries. The road was reopened around 4pm.”
