Child hospitalised after falling from cliff at Scottish beauty spot

A CHILD has been taken to hospital after falling from a cliff at a beauty spot in East Lothian.

Emergency services were called to Dunbar at around 4.40pm on Friday following reports of a person having fallen from a cliff.

Officers from Police Scotland and rescuers from the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and the Scottish Ambulance Service all attended the incident.

Coastguard teams from Dunbar and North Berwick were also called to the scene, along with an air ambulance.

The child was taken to hospital by ambulance.

Their condition is currently unknown.

A spokesperson from HM Coastguard said: “At around 4.40pm yesterday afternoon (June 26), HM Coastguard received a report of a person who had fallen from a cliff at Dunbar.

“Coastguard Rescue Teams from Dunbar and North Berwick, Scottish Ambulance Service, an air ambulance, Police Scotland and Scottish Fire and Rescue Service all attended.

“The person was taken to hospital by land ambulance.”
