Detectives are investigating the death of a child believed to have been hit by a car in a collision in Melbourne's east.
Police said the child was believed to have been struck by a vehicle in a car park off Springfield Road, in Blackburn North, about 6.45pm on Saturday.
Paramedics treated the child but the child died at the scene.
The driver of the vehicle stopped to assist and was speaking with police.
Investigations are ongoing, with the circumstances surrounding the collision yet to be established.
