Chiefs to kick off annual Chiefs Kingdom Food Drive Tuesday

The Kansas City Chiefs are set to kick off their eighth annual Chiefs Kingdom Food Drive on Tuesday, Nov. 22nd.

Every year during the holiday season, the Chiefs work to combat hunger in the Kansas City community by hosting a food drive. Through the help of community members and local businesses such as Harvesters – Community Food Network, Hy-Vee, and CommunityAmerica Credit Union, the Chiefs Kingdom Food Drive provides food donations to benefit local families in need. A year ago, a record-breaking 343,000 meals were donated.

To celebrate the start of the annual food drive on Tuesday, ‘The Fab Five’ of Chiefs rookie defensive backs are set to join KC Wolf and representatives from Harvesters and Hy-Vee to assemble holiday meal boxes with some of the first items donated to the food drive.

When the Chiefs face the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday, Nov. 27, it will serve as the official Chiefs Kingdom Food Drive day at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium. The club will only be accepting monetary donations during the game — with no boxed or canned food items collected. If you’d like to donate to the Chiefs Kingdom Food Drive at the game, you can scan the QR code displayed by volunteers as you enter the stadium gates. Local area Hy-Vee stores will be taking non-perishable food donations now through Monday, November 28.

Fans who wish to make a monetary donation to the Chiefs Kingdom Food Drive prior to or following Sunday’s game are asked to visit the following website: www.chiefs.com/fooddrive.
