Chiefs TE Travis Kelce suffered a knee injury during Tuesday’s practice

The Kansas City Chiefs start the regular season this Thursday and have already suffered an unfortunate blow to their offense. According to head coach Andy Reid, All-Pro tight end Travis Kelce has reportedly suffered a hyper-extended knee injury during Tuesday’s practice.

“They are looking at it now, so we’ll see how it goes,” said Reid when asked by reporters during Tuesday’s post-practice press conference. “The next guy steps in, and we roll; that’s what you do if that’s the case.”

Kelce hadn’t missed many games outside his rookie season with the Chiefs when he only played one game and was forced to sit out due to knee surgery. Kelce had 110 catches for 1338 yards and 12 touchdowns last season, leading all tight ends in the NFL. The Patrick Mahomes to Kelce connection is arguably the best offensive connection in the league, as the Chiefs could not have the All-Pro in the lineup on Thursday.
