Chiefs TE Travis Kelce’s gloves from Bills playoff game displayed in Hall of Fame

The Pro Football Hall of Fame is recognizing one of the best moments from the Kansas City Chiefs’ 2021 postseason.

Travis Kelce was the mastermind behind one of the most exciting finishes to a playoff game in recent memory. The Chiefs’ 13-second game-tying drive won’t carry the same weight that it should after the team’s AFC title game exit, but it’s still getting recognition from the Hall of Fame in its “Pro Football Today Gallery.”

In this specific gallery, the NFL displays historic items from some of the most recent games. The Chiefs have had a number of items displayed in the gallery lately, with Andy Reid’s face shield and Laurent Duvernay-Tardif’s lab coat going on display during the COVID-19 pandemic last year.

Now, Kelce’s gloves and a game ball are going to help tell the story of the team’s divisional-round win over the Bills.

Here is what the Hall of Fame had to say about the items displayed and the game in their release:

“The contest was the first playoff game in NFL history with three go-ahead touchdowns scored in the final two minutes of regulation. Following the two-minute warning, there were 31 combined points, 296 yards of total offense and five plays of 25 or more yards. The game also marked the first time in league history that opposing quarterbacks each passed for 300 or more yards, three or more touchdowns and rushed for 50 or more yards without throwing an interception.

Travis Kelce clinched the victory for Kansas City on a game-winning, 8-yard touchdown pass from Patrick Mahomes in overtime.

To highlight one of the greatest games ever played, a game ball and Kelce’s game-worn gloves are on display in the Hall’s Pro Football Today Gallery.”
