Chiefs TE Travis Kelce enjoying ‘New Heights’ one episode at a time

It has become a trend that NFL players after their playing career ends is to pursue a career in broadcasting as an analyst. The most knowledgeable and charismatic players are typically scouted well before their last snap, as in the multi-million dollar case of Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB Tom Brady’s deal with FOX Sports.

Kansas City Chiefs TE Travis Kelce is someone who has shown the ability to pursue broadcasting after his playing career ends. He starred in his own dating reality show in 2016. He’s made appearances on ESPN’s Monday Night Football ManningcastABC TV’s Holey Moley, and now he’s thriving alongside his brother Jason of the Philadelphia Eagles in the world of podcasting.

Chiefs Wire’s Ed Easton Jr. recently sat with Kelce and the two discussed his ‘New Heights Show’ podcast

“Yeah, I think that was the biggest thing for me and my brother (Jason) was to do something that we both enjoyed, which is sitting down and just having a fun conversation,” Kelce said. “He’s an unbelievable storyteller. And I always, you know, like to keep it light-hearted and fun. And sure enough, who knows where it goes from here? I think I think the idea was to have maybe an opportunity show up down the road, but right now, we’re having so much fun with the New Heights Show and podcast that it’s just, you know, we’re taking it one day at a time and enjoying it—one episode at a time.”

The podcast’s success will lead to new ventures for the Kelce brothers, who may be looking to build their own little media empire a la Omaha Productions in the future. The fun nature of the show and differences in personalities makes it a unique experience for listeners as they learn what is happening in the Kelce brothers’ playing careers and gain insight on what is going on around the league each week.
