There was a lot of celebrating this past weekend between Father’s Day and Juneteenth holidays, but one member of the Kansas City Chiefs celebrated a day named after him.
Chiefs rookie RB Isiah “Pop” Pacheco returned to his hometown of Vineland, New Jersey where he was honored by his peers and community members. The Vineland South High School standout was the subject of a parade that began at his old stomping grounds of Gittone Stadium and ended at Vineland City Hall, where Pacheco received the key to the city. Vineland South also seemingly honored him with an award and retired his No. 1 jersey.

A seventh-round draft pick by the Chiefs out of Rutgers this past April, Pacheco played quarterback, running back and defensive back for the Fighting Clan. He combined for nearly 5,000 yards of total offense during his high school career with 33 rushing touchdowns during his junior and senior seasons alone. His play, performance and impact on the community clearly stood out for him to now receive this honor.
