Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes becomes fastest player to reach 30,000 yards

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes is no stranger to setting records, and he has set another against the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 8.

Heading into Sunday’s game, Mahomes had a chance to become the quickest quarterback to reach 30,000 career passing yards, by surpassing Las Angeles Rams’ quarterback Matthew Stafford’s record of 109 games.

With just under a minute remaining in the first half of Sunday’s game, the reigning Super Bowl MVP found wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins for a 16-yard pass and officially crossed the 30,000-yard mark in just 103 games.

The Chiefs were quick to acknowledge the career milestone in a post to their official Twitter account:

Though Mahomes has plenty of reason to celebrate after this impressive achievement, the reigning Super Bowl MVP will need to continue dominating the Raiders in the second half of Sunday’s game to help Kansas City keep its undefeated record intact.

Stay tuned to see if Mahomes can close out Las Vegas.
