The Kansas City Chiefs have officially placed star wide receiver Rashee Rice on their injured reserve list after he hurt his knee against the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 4.
Rice, who was among the NFL’s most prolific pass catchers through the first three games of the regular season, will be inactive for at least four games but could return later in the season if his injury proves to be less severe than expected.
Kansas City hasn’t yet made any moves in response to Rice’s injury, but there has been speculation about the Chiefs’ intention to make a deal for another receiver ahead of the NFL’s trade deadline on November 5.

On Thursday, head coach Andy Reid told reporters that Kansas City’s training staff was waiting for the swelling in Rice’s knee to subside before they conducted further tests to determine the nature of the receiver’s injury.
Expect the Chiefs to add a player to their 53-man roster before their Week 5 matchup against the New Orleans Saints on “Monday Night Football.’
