In back-to-back weeks, the Kansas City Chiefs will enter their game as favorites to win. This time it’s against their most competitive division rival, the Los Angeles Chargers.
According to Tipico Sportsbook, Kansas City (1-0) are 3.5-point favorites over Los Angeles (1-0). The over/under point total remains set at 54.5 points scored. The money line is now -190 for the Chiefs, giving K.C. a 65.52% implied win probability. Keep in mind that Kansas City finished 3-4 ATS as 3.5-point favorites or more during home games last season. Los Angeles finished with a 3-1 against the spread record as an away underdog last season.
It’s not terribly surprising that the Chiefs are favored over the Chargers here in Week 1. It’s the home opener at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium. This team has been consistent home favorites in the opener dating back to Patrick Mahomes taking over the team in his MVP-winning 2018 season. They’re also coming off of a week where they dominated their opponent and were the only team in the NFL to score more than 40 points.
