Planning for Super Bowl week can be quite a logistical challenge, especially when you're a mom and the wife of an NFL player. Emily Bushman, wife of Kansas City Chiefs tight end Matt Bushman, recently shared a behind-the-scenes glimpse into the preparations involved in a TikTok video. As the daughter of retired tight end Chad Lewis, Emily is familiar with the NFL and has been giving fans a peek into their Super Bowl journey on the popular social media platform.
In her TikTok video, Emily explained that two weeks before the big game, the players and their families have to sort out all the logistics. The players receive a specific number of tickets for the Super Bowl, but only two of them are complimentary. This means that families have to purchase additional tickets, which can be quite expensive. As Emily noted, the price of tickets for this year's Super Bowl LVIII at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada, is about four times the usual cost.
It's not just about buying tickets, though. The players and their families also have to meticulously plan out the details of their guests' journey. From which events they will attend to how they will get there, every aspect needs to be considered and organized. Emily drew attention to a discussion between Jason and Kylie Kelce in their Amazon Prime documentary, Kelce. The documentary showcased the family's preparations for last year's Super Bowl and brought to light the fact that even newborns count as a ticket. Fortunately, Emily's mom has volunteered to watch their two daughters, 7-month-old Micah Jane and 2-year-old Andie Mae, during the game.
While navigating through these logistical challenges may seem overwhelming, Emily emphasized that it's all part of the fun. This week is dedicated to getting everything organized and ensuring that the players can fully focus on the game in the upcoming week.
Super Bowl LVIII will feature a matchup between the Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers. The game will be broadcasted on CBS on February 11th at 6:30 p.m. ET.
Although being a mom and an NFL wife during Super Bowl week may require careful planning and coordination, it's evident that Emily and other families embrace the excitement and joy that comes with these preparations.
