The Miami Dolphins were eliminated from the postseason following their 27-6 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs back in the divisional round, so it’s been some time since they last played football.
While Dolphins fans prepare for the offseason, there are a number of former Dolphins who are still playing for a Super Bowl championship that they can support.
This Sunday, the Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers are set to battle in a Super Bowl matchup, where one team will walk out with a Lombardi Trophy, and there are five former Dolphins on their rosters and practice squads.
Here’s a look at which players who once donned the aqua and orange will play in this one:
49ers OL Jesse Davis
Davis was signed by the Dolphins in 2016 after stints with the Seattle Seahawks and New York Jets. Over five seasons with Miami, he played in 80 games and started 72 at both guard and tackle before leaving to join the Minnesota Vikings last season.
49ers OL Jake Brendel
Brendel signed with the Dolphins in 2016 after a brief stint with the Dallas Cowboys. In three seasons with Miami, he appeared in 21 games and started three before joining the Denver Broncos in 2019.
49ers LS Taybor Pepper
Pepper spent the 2019 season with the Dolphins after previously being with the Geen Bay Packers, Baltimore Ravens and New York Giants. He played in all 16 games before joining the 49ers the following season.
Chiefs OL Austin Reiter
Reiter was signed by the Dolphins off of the New Orleans Saints practice squad back in 2021. He started five games for the team before he was released later that season.
Chiefs RB La'Mical Perine
Perine spent the 2022 season on the Dolphins practice squad after he was released by the Philadelphia Eagles. Later that year, he signed with the Chiefs practice squad and won the Super Bowl with the team.
