The Chicago Bulls ended last season in disappointment: Eliminated in the play-in tournament. Since the all-in moves they made two years ago, the Bulls have won one playoff game.
Chicago’s roster just doesn’t seem good enough to compete with the best of the best in the East.
In turn, many questioned whether they could reset the roster this summer. And while the team officials made it clear they planned on running it back, rumblings that Zach LaVine could be moved persist. Zach Buckley of Bleacher Report believes them.
Buckley wrote an article predicting the next wave of NBA stars to request a trade, and he thinks LaVine could be one of them.
“Trade winds swirling around Zach LaVine would be nothing new. His being the one who initiates those talks would be a novel twist, though.
“In June, Yahoo Sports’ Jake Fischer reported the Chicago Bulls were ‘quietly gauging’ LaVine’s trade market. With some knee issues in his past and a boatload of money tethered to his future, he is a logical trade candidate should Chicago ever decide to pull the plug on this core.
“Then again, he might want to force the issue before this front office is ready to make that concession,” Buckley wrote.
Earlier this summer, LaVine stated he doesn’t think he’ll be traded this offseason, but situations can change quickly. Depending on the state of the Bulls roster over the next year, LaVine might get tired of losing.
