Chicago Bulls likely won’t get desired return in Zach LaVine trade

The Chicago Bulls are one of the more intriguing teams around the league because they could go in a ton of different directions. Unfortunately, none of those directions are likely to lead to championship-caliber results. Instead, they are faced with the choice of running back the same core of blowing up their roster.

It seems as though the Bulls plan on taking the former route, but recent reports have cast doubt on that belief. Chicago has reportedly reached out to other teams in an attempt to gauge trade interest in Zach LaVine. And according to KC Johnson of NBC Sports Chicago, they are looking to net a young player and multiple firsts for LaVine.

However, Greg Swartz of Bleacher Report doesn’t believe the Bulls will get the return they want for LaVine. In a recent article, he gave his opinion on whether to buy or sell NBA rumors, and he sold on Chicago netting that package.

“With $178 million still owed to him over the next four seasons ($44.5 million per year), teams would be paying superstar money for a player who’s never made a major impact on winning.

Chicago would get far better offers than what the Wizards received for Beal since LaVine doesn’t possess a no-trade clause, but expecting multiple first-round picks and young talent back for him isn’t going to happen, either,” Swartz wrote.

LaVine is a two-time All-Star and a solid player, but with the contract he’s owed and his lack of playoff success, Chicago might be disappointed in the offers they receive.
