RAIPUR: A man strangled his former girlfriend when she broke off his engagement with another girl in Janjgir Champa district. Her decomposed body was recovered after a fortnight .
The man was extremely upset with his ex-girlfriend as she informed the fiancé’s family about his past relationship with her. Police said that accused Ajay Singh was in relationship with Sahodra for three years in Budhanpur village. Due to family pressure, they couldn’t marry but were reportedly in touch with each other.
On April 13, Ajay called Sahodra for a meeting where the duo fought over the issue and he strangled her to death. His friend Narayan Maitri helped him in the crime, police said.
When Sahodra’s family reported a missing complaint, it was found that she was in touch with Ajay hours before she went missing. Ajay was then arrested, leading to Narayan’s arrest.
