The Oklahoma City Thunder made a free agency splash by acquiring Isaiah Hartenstein for a three-year, $87 million deal. The 26-year-old’s addition shores up OKC’s rebounding and size woes.
Hartenstein also gives the Thunder a shot to utilize a proper double-big lineup with Chet Holmgren. This supplies OKC with two of the best rim protectors.
The 22-year-old sounded excited about Hartenstein’s inclusion to the youngest first seed in league history. Holmgren went to X, formerly known as Twitter, to express his eagerness to be on the same squad as the seven-footer.
Welcome to the O my bright-skin twin🤞🏼💪🏼😂 https://t.co/ow0lQa7gOp

Expect plenty of Hartenstein-Holmgren frontcourts over the next couple of seasons. Both players give OKC elite shot blockers who will be lob threats on the other end.
The Thunder hit a home run with Hartenstein’s addition. He easily became the best free agent signing since the franchise relocated to OKC in 2008.
