Chester Zoo has welcomed one of the world’s most endangered primates just in time for Easter visitors.
A rare c otton-top tamarin monkey has been born to first-time parents, three-year-old Treat and five-year-old Leo. Zoo-keepers have said they are 'overjoyed' by the new arrival.
Primate experts have said it is 'incredibly special' to witness the monkeys settling into family life as the parents tend to the 'tiny' newborn. Measuring just 10cm from head to tail and weighing only 40 grams, the baby is the first to be born at the zoo in 22 years.
