If there was an award for knighthood at the ongoing Chess Olympiad, D Gukesh would have got it for his win over Wei Yi of China. The battling win gave the Indian a huge mental edge over Wei's compatriot Ding Liren who Gukesh will meet in Singapore in mid-December for the world title. But that's another story.
