Cheryl got a bit of a shock as she left London's Lyric Theatre on Wednesday night, when a fan got close to her to get a picture, as she headed home following another star turn in 2:22: A Ghost Story.
There was a huge reaction to the news that Girls Aloud star Cheryl was joining the cast of the award-winning West End thriller in the role of Jenny, a part previously taken on by Lilly Allen, Giovanna Fletcher and Laura Whitmore. Jenny is a new mum who is convinced that there's some hauntings going on in her house, causing tension between her and husband Sam.
There is a massive plot twist right at the end of 2:22, which won't reveal, especially given that the show will be in Newcastle later this year and, despite more than a few eyebrows being raised at her casting, Cheryl has earned great reviews for her performances to date, as she shares a stage with co-stars ;like EastEnders' own Max Branning, actor Jake Wood.
As you'd expect, Cheryl has proved to be a popular draw from fans, who have travelled from all over the country to see her. As well as seeing the show itself, they have been keen to meet the Call My Name singer at the stage door and, there was a crowd outside the Lyric, near Piccadilly Circus, on Wednesday.
Unfortunately one of the fans forgot that she had the flash on her mobile phone and it went off right in Cheryl's face as she tried to get a picture, causing the Geordie star to step back and look startled, before realising what had happened.
The fan shared their mishap on Twitter, captioning the video: "Crying! Didn’t realise my flash went on! Sorry @CherylOfficial"
At the time of writing, the video had been liked over 2,000 times and gathered plenty of responses. Elaborating on what happened, the fan, called Katy, wrote: "it was literally us taking a picture and the flash went on, she jumped a mile… I was like you okay? You seen a ghost?"
Another fan commented: "Her life flashed before her eyes (pun intended) but it's kinda funny."
