Cheryl looks worlds away from popstar heyday as she prepares for theatre debut

Cheryl may be known for her glamorous looks but the pop star looks extremely different as she went barefaced for theatre rehearsals ahead of her West End debut performance.

The 39-year-old is swapping the pop star stage for the theatre as she takes on the role of Jenny in the West End show, 2:22 A Ghost Story.

Cheryl will be stepping into the role which has previously been held by the likes of Laura Whitmore and Lily Allen.

Now, the production has shared snaps of the former Girls Aloud star in rehearsals looking worlds away from her usual self as she took a break.

In fresh snaps, the Crazy Stupid Love hitmaker can be seen going barefaced alongside her co-stars Hugo Chegwin, who is starring as Ben, Louise Ford as Lauren and Scott Karim as Sam.

The star looked sensational as she braved the chilly British weather in an oversized fluffy turtle neck jumper which she paired with blue jeans and a pair of black boots.

Former L'Oreal ambassador Cheryl swept her signature caramel tresses back with bangs flowing freely down her face just days before she takes to the stage for the first time.

Upon announcing her career move, Cheryl was congratulated by celebrity pals including Vicky Pattison, Paris Hilton and former X Factor star, Rylan Clark.

Despite mum-of-one Cheryl being overjoyed ahead of her first outing in the role, a source claims that this may be her last attempt at making a comeback in the entertainment industry.

In recent years, Cheryl has taken a step back from the industry with her last song, Let You, hitting Number 57 in the charts, while Love Made Me Do It charted at Number 19, despite performances on The Graham Norton Show and The X Factor.

Meanwhile, her last major TV role came in 2019, The Greatest Dancer was axed by the BBC just one year later in April.

Speaking to new! magazine, a source said: "Cheryl wants to reinvent herself in 2023, she was on TV all of the time, she was the sweetheart of the nation. But she stepped back for a while to focus on being a mother.

"She's excited to be coming back, some things haven't worked out in the past that she's tried, but this is a very exciting time for her."

The source went on to claim that Cheryl has been eager to "get back on the scene" for some time ahead of her latest job.

An insider claimed that she is set to earn around £1,000 for each show, meaning she will take home around £100,000 for her four-month stint.
