Cher has confirmed her romance with 36-year-old music producer Alexander Edwards.
The singing icon was pictured last week holding hands with Edwards, who is 40 years her junior, as they left Hollywood restaurant Craig’s, sparking speculation that the pair are an item.
Cher, 76, addressed her new relationship with Edwards as she posted a photo of him on Twitter, adding a love heart emoji beside it.
Followers posed several questions to the singer in regards to her relationship following the tweet, many of which she happily responded to as she shed light on her new romance.
Cher confirmed that she met Edwards during Paris Fashion Week as she said “love doesn’t know math!”, addressing the age gap, and told one follower that her whole family had now met her beau.
Edwards is the vice president of A&R at iconic record label Def Jam, which famously signed artists Rihanna, Justin Bieber, and Nas, among many more.
The music producer was previously in a relationship with model and activist Amber Rose, and the pair share three-year-old son Slash Electric Alexander Edwards.
Cher was formerly married to Sonny Bono in the 1970s, and later wed singer Gregg Allman. She’s also dated several famous suitors, including Tom Cruise, Val Kilmer and Kiss frontman Gene Simmons.
One fan shared their concern with Cher over Edwards’ “intentions” with the singer, as they wrote: “We know you are fabulous and I’m sure your inner circle will continue to have your back. Want you to be happy, but not taken advantage of!!!”
Cher responded: “As we All Know …I WASN’T BORN YESTERDAY, & What I Know For Sure…There Are No Guarantees. Anytime you make a Choice You Take a Chance. I’ve Always Taken Chances…It’s WHO I Am”.
The Believe singer then tweeted to her followers: “I’m Not Defending us. Haters are Gonna Hate…Doesn’t Matter That we’re Happy & Not Bothering Anyone”.
