Chennai set to swelter as hotter days are round the corner

CHENNAI: The peak summer season (‘Agni Nakshatram’ in Tamil) is less than a week away and the maximum temperature has started to climb in the suburbs and interior areas of the city.

There will be no heat wave like in the northern parts of the country, but the days are going to be hotter and uncomfortable as the temperature is likely to touch 40C in the suburbs and interior areas of the city in the coming days.
