After a scintillating first day of action the 2022 Cheltenham Festival is back on for day two of the biggest week in the horse racing calendar.
The opening day on Tuesday saw the Festival get off to a super start, and unsurprisingly it was Rachael Blackmore and Honeysuckle who stole the show. Blackmore put in a neat ride aboard her trusty partner to win the Champion Hurdle for the second time in as many years, in another historic day for the Irish pairing.
Despite the success of Ireland’s golden girl, it was in fact Great Britain who came out on top overall, with Nico de Boinville starring with two wins on Constitution Hill and Marie’s Rock.
Results on Tuesday mean the British trainers currently edge out their Irish counterparts four wins to three. After a remarkable start the Festival is set to only get better on day two with the likes of Sir Gerhard Shishkin, Energumene and Tiger Roll all taking to the track throughout the day.
