Chelsea vs Man Utd Women's FA Cup Final: kick-off time and how to watch

Chelsea continue their pursuit of a first-piece of silverware this season as they bid to defend their Women’s FA Cup title from high-flying newcomers Manchester United on Sunday at Wembley Stadium.

A historic record crowd is expected for the highly-anticipated clash of WSL title-rivals. The race for the league’s summit looks set to hit a zenith on the season’s final day and Sunday’s FA Cup final clash will only whet the appetite for one of the most thrilling domestic seasons in recent history.

The advantage of history lies firmly with Emma Hayes’ side as they welcome United to their first-ever FA Cup final. The Blues have hoisted the coveted domestic trophy four times since their inaugural victory in 2015, with an engrossing and dramatic final against Manchester City secured last season through a late Sam Kerr goal.

But Chelsea’s right to their league and FA Cup crowd have come under siege from Mark Skinner’s side, who have demonstrated an admirable nerve in the league’s upper echelons this season that few anticipated.

Here’s everything you need to know about how to watch the match.

How did the teams get here?

Like all Women's Super League sides, Manchester United and Chelsea entered the competition in the Fourth Round.

Chelsea enjoyed the more arduous route to the Final with Emma Hayes' side beating fellow WSL outfits - Liverpool, Arsenal, Reading and Aston Villa - to reach the Wembley.

United meanwhile side kickstarted their cup campaign with a victory over Sunderland, before defeating Durham and Lewes to advance to the semi-final. A late strike from super-sub Rachel Williams helped United come from behind to against Brighton to book their place in the Final.

Which team has won the competition most?

Arsenal Women have laid claim to the Women’s FA Cup more than any other English side, seeing them hold the record for most titles overall having won fourteen times. Arsenal have not lifted the trophy since the 2015/2016 season.
