Chelsea moved into fourth place in the Premier League table despite being held to a draw by Burnley on Saturday. Joao Pedro continued his red-hot form in front of goal by breaking the deadlock as early as the fourth minute, sliding the ball home after being picked out by Pedro Neto in the six-yard box.
The result was placed in doubt when Wesley Fofana was sent-off in the second half for a poor tackle on James Ward-Prowse. Then in stoppage time, Ward-Prowse’s corner was headed home by Zian Flemming to earn a point for Burnley in their bid to avoid relegation back to the Championship.
With Aston Villa also dropping points at home to Leeds United, Chelsea have missed the chance to close the gap on third place and will drop out of the top five altogether if Liverpool and Manchester United beat Nottingham Forest and Everton respectively before this matchweek from the Premier League is completed. Follow the game back below with our dedicated match blog, featuring expert insight and analysis from Dom Smith at Stamford Bridge.

16:54 , Tashan Deniran-Alleyne90+5 min: Nearly a winner for Burnley but Edwards is denied, but here comes another corner which is header over by Bruun Larsen. What a chance that was to win the game.
Dom Smith at Stamford Bridge
16:52 , Tashan Deniran-AlleyneChelsea, the league's best team at dropping points from a winning position, may well deliver on that front again. Burnley level after 93 minutes...

Zian Flemming has surely snatched a point for Burnley right at the death!
Chelsea 1-0 Burnley
16:50 , Tashan Deniran-Alleyne90+2 min: Chelsea, successfully waste about a minute by keeping the ball in the corner but they will have some defending to do as Bruun Larsen wins a corner for Burnley.

16:49 , Tashan Deniran-Alleyne90 min: Into SIX minutes of stoppage time.
Chelsea 1-0 Burnley
16:48 , Tashan Deniran-Alleyne89 min: CHANCE!
Superb delivery from Ward-Prowse, right onto Barnes’ head but he can’t keep his effort down. In any case, the offside flag was raised against the Burnley striker so it’s all academic.
Dom Smith at Stamford Bridge
16:46 , Tashan Deniran-AlleyneAcheampong is being hurried as a substitute for Chelsea along with Sarr. Neto and James off.
Chelsea 1-0 Burnley
16:46 , Tashan Deniran-Alleyne87 min: Corner to Burnley as James puts the ball behind but Sanchez shows great keeping to deal with the delivery but then undoes that good work by booting the ball straight back to Burnley who now have a free-kick after Enzo brings down Edwards.

Chelsea launch an attack and the ball drops kindly for Hato running onto it, but he slices his effort wide.
Two more Burnley changes sees Anthony and Humphreys make way for Barnes and Tchaouna.
Chelsea 1-0 Burnley
16:40 , Tashan Deniran-Alleyne81 min: Excellent reading of the game by Chalobah there, stopping a certain equaliser. Bruun Larsen was poised.

Dom Smith at Stamford Bridge
16:31 , Tashan Deniran-AlleyneRosenior has his head in his hands as Fofana is shown a red card for fouling Ward-Prowse. First red card of Rosenior's reign and suddenly the rest of this afternoon looks a tougher task for Chelsea, down to ten men.
Chelsea 1-0 Burnley
16:31 , Tashan Deniran-Alleyne72 min: RED CARD!
Wesley Fofana sent-off for Chelsea
Chelsea 1-0 Burnley
16:30 , Tashan Deniran-Alleyne71 min: Burnley under the cosh a bit here, but they deal with two corners in quick succession rather comfortably.
Chelsea 1-0 Burnley
16:27 , Tashan Deniran-Alleyne69 min: Gusto is played in once again down the left, but not for the first time today, his final pass is not quite right. In fairness to the full-back, despite playing out of position, he is not afraid to use his weaker foot.
Chelsea 1-0 Burnley
16:24 , Tashan Deniran-Alleyne65 min: Sanchez gives Burnley some encouragement with a poor pass out from the back but Chelsea bail him out and almost go up the other end and score, though Palmer is crowded out.
Penalty appeal on Neto, but Laurent barely touched him.
Chelsea 1-0 Burnley
16:21 , Tashan Deniran-Alleyne62 min: With James Ward-Prowse now on for Lesley Ugochukwu, you have to imagine Burnley will improve from set-pieces, if they manage win some between now and full-time.
Chelsea 1-0 Burnley
16:18 , Tashan Deniran-Alleyne60 min: Slick passing move from Chelsea puts Gusto through down the left but he can’t find a team-mate with the cut back and Burnley get enough bodies around the ball to deal with the danger.
Dom Smith at Stamford Bridge
16:16 , Tashan Deniran-AlleyneStamford Bridge gives former Chelsea midfielder Lesley Ugochukwu a sitting ovation.
Chelsea 1-0 Burnley
16:15 , Tashan Deniran-Alleyne56 min: Burnley build down the right with Pires and his cross to the back post is met by Flemming but Fofana picks up the second ball and clears.
At the other end, Palmer slips in Neto who doesn’t take the ball in cleanly but still gets a shot away but Burnley defenders get back to clear.
Chelsea 1-0 Burnley
16:13 , Tashan Deniran-Alleyne54 min: Bit of confusion as the referee blows his whistle before James sends in a free-kick, resulting in a re-take and the delivery is poor from the Chelsea captain, right into Dubravka’s arms.
Dom Smith at Stamford Bridge
16:10 , Tashan Deniran-AlleyneGood chance there for Joao Pedro and yet another fine block from the Burnley back line. Chelsea edging closer, you sense, to that second goal.
Chelsea 1-0 Burnley

Rosenior has given alot of freedom to these players.
It's rotation everywhere.

15:50 , Tashan Deniran-AlleyneChelsea supporters aren’t happy with the drop in levels after scoring in the fourth minute.

HALF-TIME
15:48 , Tashan Deniran-AlleyneThere goes the whistle and Chelsea lead at the break thanks to Joao Pedro’s goal in the fourth minute.
Chelsea 1-0 Burnley
15:46 , Tashan Deniran-Alleyne45 min: Into two minutes of stoppage time.
Chelsea 1-0 Burnley
15:44 , Tashan Deniran-Alleyne44 min: Burnley with 67% possession at Stamford Bridge in the last ten minutes.
However, they could - perhaps should - be 2-0 down. Football can be a funny game at times.
Chelsea 1-0 Burnley
15:41 , Tashan Deniran-Alleyne40 min: Fernandez with an unorthodox foul on Hannibal that leaves the Burnley midfielder on the deck. The visitors work this set-piece well but James is alert at the back post to concede a corner.
The ball eventually falls to Hannibal who strikes it on the half volley but his effort is straight at Sanchez.
Dom Smith at Stamford Bridge
15:38 , Tashan Deniran-AlleyneWhat an error from Kyle Walker, and how Palmer has not punished him I'm not at all clear. Should be 2-0 to a Chelsea team who have really dropped off in the last 15 minutes or so.
Chelsea 1-0 Burnley
15:38 , Tashan Deniran-Alleyne37 min: Chelsea beginning to get frustrated as Neto concedes a foul for a push on Laurent. Anthony plays the free-kick short to Walker and his cross to the back post is cleared and the defender makes an error which goes unpunished by Palmer.
Chelsea 1-0 Burnley
15:36 , Tashan Deniran-Alleyne35 min: Edwards takes but he gets too much curl on the shot and the effort goes wide.
Chelsea 1-0 Burnley
15:35 , Tashan Deniran-Alleyne34 min: Fofana is booked for a foul on Hannibal, conceding a free-kick in the process.
Dangerous position this for Burnley, Flemming and Edwards in discussion. Suits a left footer...
Dom Smith at Stamford Bridge
15:34 , Tashan Deniran-AlleyneThree times in about 30 seconds Rosenior has just thrown his arms in the air in response to poor decision-making by his players.
Chelsea 1-0 Burnley
15:34 , Tashan Deniran-Alleyne33 min: Big news for Chelsea as Leeds have taken the lead against Aston Villa.
If things stay the same, Chelsea will close the gap to third to four points.
Chelsea 1-0 Burnley
15:31 , Tashan Deniran-Alleyne30 min: Another wasted set-piece opportunity from Burnley as Ugochukwu pulls Santos to the ground in the box and Chelsea get the free-kick before Hannibal is shown a yellow card for a foul on Caicedo.
Chelsea 1-0 Burnley
15:29 , Tashan Deniran-Alleyne28 min: What a cross that is by James. Right on the money to the back post for Neto but he can’t make contact. Laurent did enough to put the Chelsea forward off without conceding a penalty.
Chelsea 1-0 Burnley
15:28 , Tashan Deniran-Alleyne27 min: Chance for Burnley to mount some pressure from a throw-in but the ball into the box is straight down the throat of Sanchez and he makes a simple catch before releasing the ball before the eight-second mark.
Chelsea 1-0 Burnley
15:25 , Tashan Deniran-Alleyne25 min: Burnley just enjoying a period of possession but the offside flag is raised against Anthony, thus halting a potential attack.
Chelsea 1-0 Burnley
15:24 , Tashan Deniran-Alleyne23 min: Worrall with a trip on Joao Pedro and then a few words for the referee after a free-kick is awarded to Chelsea.
Chelsea 1-0 Burnley
15:21 , Tashan Deniran-Alleyne20 min: Plenty of rotation from the Chelsea forwards. Pedro Neto has popped up on the left at times, despite starting on the right. Enzo Fernandez has freedom to drift wherever he wants.
Dom Smith at Stamford Bridge
15:17 , Tashan Deniran-AlleyneChelsea putting plenty of pressure on Burnley in the hunt for a second goal and a bit of breathing room in the scoreline. Couple of corners in quick succession for the hosts now.
Chelsea 1-0 Burnley
15:15 , Tashan Deniran-Alleyne15 min: Joao Pedro is in red hot form right now, that is another goal under the watch of Liam Rosenior.

Chelsea 1-0 Burnley
15:13 , Tashan Deniran-Alleyne13 min: Walker uses all of his experience to make a sliding tackle to block Palmer’s effort from troubling Dubravka.
Corner taken by James but Flemming makes the clearance at the front post.
Chelsea 1-0 Burnley
15:11 , Tashan Deniran-Alleyne10 min: Good play from Chelsea as Palmer and Joao Pedro combine to create space for Enzo and he ignores Neto to his right but curls an effort over the bar.
Chelsea 1-0 Burnley
15:09 , Tashan Deniran-Alleyne8 min: Burnley go close to netting an equaliser from the resulting corner but Ugochukwu can’t get his effort on target. Decent response from the visitors to going a goal down.
Dom Smith at Stamford Bridge
15:08 , Tashan Deniran-AlleyneYou don't see that every day. Burnley awarded a corner because the goalkeeper Sanchez took too long to release the ball. A new rule coming into play.
Dom Smith at Stamford Bridge
15:06 , Tashan Deniran-AlleyneThree minutes and 15 seconds on the clock and already Burnley's defence is breached and Chelsea lead. Decisive attack helped by Caicedo's fantastic long pass.
Just the start Rosenior wanted.
GOAL! Chelsea 1-0 Burnley | Joao Pedro ‘4

A dream start for the Blues as Pedro Neto beats the offside trap, squares the ball for Joao Pedro who can’t miss.
Chelsea 0-0 Burnley
15:04 , Tashan Deniran-Alleyne3 min: Looks like a flat back four from Burnley to start the game. Would expect their shape to change as the game goes on, Kyle Walker can slot into defence if required.
Chelsea 0-0 Burnley
15:02 , Tashan Deniran-Alleyne1 min: Early mind games from Burnley after winning the coin toss as they decide to turn Chelsea around.

Chelsea prepared to abandon a match if faced with racist abuse
14:55 , Tashan Deniran-AlleyneLiam Rosenior has said he would lead his Chelsea team off the pitch if any of his players were subjected to racist abuse that was not appropriately dealt with during a game.
Football’s response to racist abuse has been a topic of widespread debate following Tuesday’s Champions League match between Benfica and Real Madrid.
Real forward Vinicius Jr reported racial abuse by a Benfica player to referee Francois Letexier during the match.
Real Madrid have since given evidence to a UEFA investigation in which they claim the Benfica player in question was Gianluca Prestianni.

14:50 , Tashan Deniran-AlleyneRomeo Lavia made his long-awaited return from injury on Friday, representing Chelsea’s Under-21s as they were held to a 2-2 draw with Leeds.
The Belgian has been sidelined since November, when he suffered a quad injury eight minutes into a Champions League draw with Qarabag.
And 107 days after picking up his latest injury, he has finally returned to the pitch, starting the Premier League 2 clash against Leeds.

Chelsea vs Burnley live - team news imminent
13:40 , Tashan Deniran-AlleyneThe teams will be announced shortly!
Stay tuned...
Rosenior sets foundation for success at Chelsea
13:35 , Tashan Deniran-AlleyneSince Liam Rosenior took the reins, Chelsea have eight wins from 11 matches, the only games gone awry being both legs of their Carabao Cup semi-final defeat to Arsenal and the 2-2 draw with Leeds.
His name was sung by both sets of fans at last Friday’s homecoming to Hull, where a 4-0 win over his former club took the Blues into the last 16 of the FA Cup. The same stage of the Champions League beckons next month.
Hired last month from Strasbourg, owned by the same consortium that runs Chelsea, the early perception of Rosenior as a ‘company man’ promoted beyond his station will only fully wear off if the fine form continues.
Click here to read about the three ways Liam Rosenior set the foundation for success at Chelsea!

Chelsea reveal new front-of-shirt sponsor
13:30 , Tashan Deniran-AlleyneChelsea have finally secured a front-of-shirt sponsor for the remainder of the 2025-26 season.
The Blues have struck a multi-year deal with IFS, a Swedish firm who are a world-leading provider of Industrial AI.
Standard Sport understands the front-of-shirt sponsorship will make its debut on Chelsea’s kits this weekend for the men’s match against Burnley and the women’s fixture against Manchester United on Sunday.
Chelsea say the agreement marks “the beginning of a long-term collaboration that places advanced AI at the heart of football performance, operational excellence and fan engagement”.

Burnley form
13:25 , Tashan Deniran-AlleyneIt's approaching that stage of the season where every game is a must-win for Burnley if they're to have any chance ot avoiding relegation.
Scott Parker's side no longer have the distraction of the FA Cup after being beaten at home by League One Mansfield last weekend.
That was their third defeat in four across all competitions, but beyond that they do have a win over Crystal Palace as well as draws against Tottenham, Liverpool and Manchester United.

Last time out
13:20 , Tashan Deniran-AlleyneChelsea are bidding to secure a Premier League double over Burnley after winning the reverse fixture at Turf Moor earlier in the season.
Late goals in each half from Pedro Neto and Enzo Fernandez were enough to earn the Blues a 2-0 win.

Predicted Chelsea XI
13:15 , Tashan Deniran-AlleyneChelsea will again be without Marc Cucurella as they host Burnley.
The Spaniard missed Friday’s 4-0 FA Cup win at Hull City due to a hamstring injury that forced him off at half-time of the 2-2 draw with Leeds in the Premier League on February 10.
The timeframe for Cucurella’s return is still unknown, according to head coach Liam Rosenior, who namechecked Jorrel Hato and Malo Gusto as potential understudies.
Hato is the likeliest man to stand in at left-back, having done so in the second half against Leeds and also for the full match against Hull.
Chelsea predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Sanchez; James, Fofana, Chalobah, Hato; Caicedo, Santos; Palmer, Fernandez, Estevao; Joao Pedro.

Why this week was Liam Rosenior's most important yet
13:10 , Tashan Deniran-AlleyneFive exhausting weeks at Chelsea finally relented this week, allowing head coach Liam Rosenior and his players to take a different approach to the lead-in to a game, writes Dom Smith.
Since Rosenior first arrived at Chelsea’s Cobham training ground early last month, he has scarcely had a chance to pause, so demanding has the first-team calendar been.
It took him a week to find the time to be shown around Stamford Bridge for the first time.
And this week, ahead of the home match against lowly Burnley, was the first time Rosenior’s players have been able to prepare for a weekend match without navigating a midweek game.
It has allowed things to work a little differently at Cobham — and, more accurately, far away from Cobham.

Today's settings
13:05 , Tashan Deniran-AlleyneChelsea have lost just once at Stamford Bridge under Liam Rosenior, though they did drop points from a winning position here against Leeds last time out.
Interestingly though, Burnley are unbeaten on their last two visits to this ground.

Burnley wins: 28
Draws: 36
Score prediction
12:50 , Tashan Deniran-AlleyneA blip against an impressive Leeds side will have deeply frustrated Liam Rosenior, but there is no cause for alarm. Burnley will offer far less threat, especially on the road, and this should be another straightforward victory for Chelsea.
Rosenior will hope to have the result wrapped up early in the second half, allowing him to rest some of his stars - including Cole Palmer - ahead of facing Arsenal next weekend.
Chelsea to win, 3-0.
Burnley team news
12:45 , Tashan Deniran-AlleyneAxel Tuanzebe, sidelined until March, is the only Burnley player approaching a return from injury.

Chelsea team news
12:40 , Tashan Deniran-AlleyneCole Palmer is expected to return to the Chelsea matchday squad after being left out against Hull City, with Liam Rosenior confirming the midfielder is having his "minutes managed."
Marc Cucurella will miss out the hamstring injury picked up against Leeds. There is currently no timeframe on a possible return for the left-back.
