Chelsea transfer news: Blues 'given major boost' in £97m swoop for Ousmane Dembele

Thomas Tuchel is plotting a busy summer now that Chelsea's takeover saga is over and the club can sign players again.

The Blues boss feared his side were falling behind their rivals last season and needed to make a series of signings to catch up. Chelsea need defenders with Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen leaving, but Tuchel is also looking to revamp his forward line.

Here, Mirror Sport takes a look at all the latest Chelsea transfer rumours:

Chelsea and Manchester United target speaks out over future

Leipzig forward Christopher Nkunku claims he is flattered by interest from Chelsea and Manchester United.

France star Nkunku scored 35 goals last season and is being tipped for a move this summer with the Blues competing with United for his services.

Speaking to Telefoot, Nkunku said: “It’s no secret there are clubs that are interested in me. Yes, it’s flattering. But it’s also flattering to have a club like Leipzig doing everything to keep me. Here, we will have to think carefully and make a good decision."

Chelsea boosted in race for £96.8m forward

Chelsea have received a boost in their pursuit of Barcelona forward Ousmane Dembele after Paris St-Germain pulled out of the race to sign him.

Thomas Tuchel worked with Dembele at Borussia Dortmund before his mammoth £96.8m move to Spain and tried to bring him to Stamford Bridge in January. Now a free agent while he stalls on signing a new contract with Barca, Dembele was also a target for PSG but they are no longer interested, according to Spanish newspaper Sport.

They claim Chelsea have offered the France star a four-year deal with a signing-on fee, and although the terms fall short of Dembele's demands, talks are set to continue.

Chelsea set asking price for Loftus-Cheek

Chelsea have told Inter Milam to cough up £17m if they want to sign misfit midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek.

But the Serie A side would prefer to bring the former England international to Milan on a loan deal instead. That's according to Italian newspaper Gazzetta, who claim Loftus-Cheek is available this summer. Tuchel needs to sell players to boost his transfer kitty and make room for new signings next season.
