Chelsea transfer news and rumours: Dembele rejects Barcelona, Kounde injury relief, Ait-Nouri linked

Chelsea are hoping to finally get their summer transfer business underway after months of market stasis.

Ousmane Dembele remains a top target ahead of his exit from Barcelona, while Jules Kounde of Sevilla is another in their crosshairs amid an injury worry for the defender.

Thomas Tuchel’s backline is certainly in need of reinforcements after Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen left, and Cesar Azpilicueta could follow suit.

Marcos Alonso is also tipped to depart, opening the way for Wolves wing-back Rayan Ait-Nouri.

Here is your latest update of Chelsea transfer news and rumours...

Ousmane Dembele

Chelsea remain in the hunt for French winger Dembele after he rejected Barcelona’s latest contract offer.

The 25-year-old will become a free agent at the end of the month with Cadena SER reporting that the LaLiga giants do not want to make any further offers.

Paris Saint-Germain have also been linked with Dembele.

The unexpected revelation that Kounde requires surgery on a longstanding injury was not, as it turns out, news to Chelsea.

France boss Didier Deschamps spoke of the imminent operation after Les Bleus lost to Croatia on Monday night, sparking fears his Stamford Bridge switch will be called off.

However, Goal report that Chelsea were aware of the issue and Kounde is expected to be fit for pre-season after the “minor” operation. A £55m deal is set to be completed early next month.

Rayan Ait-Nouri

According to the Mail, Wolves wing-back Ait-Nouri has emerged as an option for Chelsea.

The 21-year-old would be a replacement for Marcos Alonso as Tuchel looks to sell the Spaniard, most likely to Barcelona.

Wolves still hold a four-year contract on Ait-Nouri with Manchester City another team interested.
