Former Chelsea player Jason Cundy has claimed that he would "100 percent" take Mason Mount in his team over Brazil star Neymar Jr. It comes as both players are out on international duty with their respective nations, both hoping to achieve the ultimate goal of the winning the World Cup this winter.
Mount has been one of the understated parts of Gareth Southgate's success as England boss, often having more of an impact off the ball than on it, meaning he rarely catches the headlines. It's something that Brighton midfielder Adam Lallana agrees with in an interview with the Times.
"Mason Mount is a manager’s dream," He claimed. "The glamorous selection by England would have been to play Phil Foden as a No 10 alongside Bukayo Saka and Sterling, but picking Mount was another of the calls Gareth Southgate got exactly right. And it is no surprise to me having worked with Graham Potter at Brighton that Mount has started every Premier League and Champions League game barring one since he took over at Chelsea in September."

Mount then played a key role in England's 6-2 thrashing of Iran, often offering another option to break the lines and recirculate possession to heap on the pressure. It's led to comparisons with Neymar Jr and what they offer to their respective national sides during their games.
Former Chelsea man Cundy made a huge claim, telling talkSPORT: "Neymar doesn't get anywhere near a team I want to support because it's him, he's not a team player," Then when asked if he'd take Mount over the Brazilian, he replied: "Yes! 100%, I'll tell you why.
"Neymar won't do what Mount does. Neymar won't do the dirty work. He won't do that. If you're a team player you can't get in the team. Can you imagine if Neymar was English in that [Gareth] Southgate squad? Can you imagine the disruption, what it would do, the effect it would have? He's not part of the gang."
