One of the senior figures for the Saudi Media Group Khalid Al Khudair has said that he would consider joining forces with another consortium that has its number one priority centering around the 'fans.'
After six days of pure speculation following the Raine Group deadline for bids last Friday, Mohamed Al Khereiji's group became the first to break silence with the news that they are not being considered to take over from Roman Abramovich, the Russian oligarch under UK government sanctions. The consortium led by Todd Boehly, a part-owner of the LA Dodgers, and Sir Martin Broughton's group were told on Thursday night they had progressed to the shortlist.
According to reports, it seems to now be a straight shoot out between the aforementioned American consortium and the UK axis of Broughton and Coe with the Ricketts Family more outsiders with some suggesting they had made the third spot for the shortlist despite the #NoToRicketts campaign going crazy on social media. Alternative plans such as joining other consortium's are being mentioned in the media this morning.

The same tactic is also being touted around for the Saudi Media Group. So, what would it take for a group to switch alliances to another consortium? Al Khudair told supporters on social media that the group would consider partnering with another bid on the shortlist - one with the best interest of the club and its fans.
"Yes definitely," he replied on @KhalidAlKhudair to a question asking about the possibilities of the group merging together with one of the frontrunners. "The one that respects its fans and continues the legacy of the club."
Will those requirements be met by either one of the Boehly-Wyss axis or the Broughton-Coe partnership? That itself remains to be seen.
Whichever party is to take over the club has a big job to try and follow on the 21-trophy success accumulated under the Russian oligarch's tenure. Despite this set back that will most likely not see any Saudi involvement at the club unless an out-of-the-blue collaboration was to happen, Al Khudair himself as a fan of the club has reaffirmed his love for the current European and World Champions. He tweeted in a different reply when labelled part of the Blue family by one certain supporter: 'Always will be [followed by two blue heart emojis.]'
