Chelsea have submitted a new bid for Barcelona striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, if recent reports are to be believed. The Blues have continued to pursue a move for the Gabon international to help solve their goal scoring woes, however time is ticking down on a deal being completed.
Chelsea are confident that a move for Aubameyang will be completed before transfer deadline day next week, football.london understands. Talks continue to progress over a move, with Fabrizio Romano reporting that intermediaries are holding discussions on behalf of the two clubs.
It comes as Thomas Tuchel continues to look for solutions to problems for his squad in the transfer market, with three main first-team signings made at this stage. Along with Aubameyang, the likes of Wesley Fofana and Anthony Gordon continue to be linked with a switch.

However, with only one week remaining, the German coach remains uncertain over deals crossing the line before the deadline: "I don't know. We need to wait. The transfer period is still open. It gets later and later, and we need to focus on what we have and what we can do."
The Blues have managed just three goals from their opening three games and the lack of a natural centre-forward option remains a concern for many. However, the move for Aubameyang shows there is an attempt to replace Romelu Lukaku - now back on loan at former club Inter Milan - this summer.
According to Sport, Chelsea have made a new bid worth roughly £17million - with the add-ons removed and switch to upfront cash. It could be a promising windfall for the Catalonian outfit, who still need income to register new signing and former Blues transfer target Jules Kounde.
However, the report claims that the Blaugrana fired back an immediate response, encouraged by the new offer, but still holding out for £25million. It shows a positive move towards an agreement, however there are still clearly issues to be ironed out between the clubs.
It remains to be seen if these issues can be thrashed out before next week's transfer deadline, however there appear to be positive movement in the discussions.
