Chelsea slammed with major Hakim Ziyech allegation after failed Paris Saint-German transfer

Chelsea star Hakim Ziyech was on the verge of a deadline day move to Paris Saint-Germain, but a January loan move fell through at the eleventh hour. A mixture of wrong documents, a computer issue and a missed deadline were all claimed to be the issue, with PSG failing with an appeal to salvage the deal.

Despite his disappointment surrounding a departure not being secured, with the Moroccan international subsequently left stranded in Paris, Graham Potter insisted he was back focused on the task at hand in west London.

"He's back in the country and he trained this morning [Thursday]," Potter said ahead of the Friday night clash with Fulham. "These stories won't be the first or last, but he is a professional player and understands the situation. He is committed to us and is available for the squad for the game tomorrow. He'll be an important player for us for the rest of the season."

The Blues boss certainly was not lying in his pre-match comments with Ziyech named in the starting XI before he was later brought off around the hour mark for the returning Raheem Sterling.

Since then, PSG sporting advisor Luis Campos has discussed the situation with Telefoot, saying: "Ziyech? We did everything," Campos said. "But as with all transfers, the three parties have to work well. It worked with PSG, with Ziyech, but unfortunately, at the last moment, not with Chelsea …"

Chelsea legend Ruud Gullit has been the latest to speak on the Ziyech transfer saga with his verdict slapping Chelsea with a hefty allegation.

Speaking to Ziggo Sport, he said: "This is not a mistake. It can’t be. If you get so many players and you do this two, three times… It can be bullying.

"Ziyech could also have been annoying. You don’t know. He will have to fight for his place again. In the end, it’s terrible for him.

"He should have left there a long time ago. The question is whether he would have played at Paris Saint-Germain. Then you end up in the same situation."
