Chelsea have seen a third bid rejected for Leicester City defender Wesley Fofana rejected.
The bid is understood to be worth up to £70million, including add-ons, and was instantly dismissed by Leicester.
Standard Sport understands Fofana, who is a long-term target of Blies boss Thomas Tuchel, is keen to move to Stamford Bridge.
Leicester are holding out for £80million, the same world-record fee Manchester United paid for Harry Maguire in 2019, but Chelsea will not part with such a sum.
Fofana was left out of the Foxes squad which lost to Arsenal at the weekend as manager Brendan Rodgers did not think the centre-back was in the right frame of mind to play.
The 21-year-old has also reportedly missed training sessions.
“I mentioned in the week about coming into a Premier League game and maybe one or two players not being in the right frame of mind, you can’t carry them and certainly we can’t,” Rodgers told NBC. “So that’s the reason for the change.”
Up next for Leicester is a trip to Chelsea.
